5 Euro Players Who Could Make A Move This Summer

Euro 2024 was full of stand-out performances. There is no shop window quite like an

international tournament. Here are 5 players we think should making a big money move this

summer:

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli & Georgia)

In their debut at a senior major tournament, Georgia performed well as they reached the

round of 16. Few would have predicted that run prior to the tournament. The country took

every game like a final, with several players stepping up to the occasion. Kvicha

Kvaratskhelia is arguably Georgia’s best player and scored four goals on their way to Euro

qualification. In their final group game against Portugal, the 23 year-old netted the opening

goal on his way to collect the player of the match award.

The Georgian International has been at Napoli for only two seasons but has racked up 25

goals in 88 appearances. During that team he collected Serie A player of the month award

three times, two goal of the month accolades, goal of the season, team of the season and

top assister. After an impressive few seasons at Napoli and some eye-catching performances

this summer, is it time that the Italian club cash in? They will undoubtedly make a profit on

the $10 million they paid in July 2022. With clubs like PSG and Liverpool in line to make a

bid, it will be hard to refuse.

Dani Olmo (RB Leipzig and Spain)

With three goals and two assists in six games, Dani Olmo was one of the top players at the

Euros as his country Spain lifted the trophy. The 26 year-old only played 30 minutes in the

first game before being on the bench in the second group game. Olmo, who plays on either

flank as a winger, scored eight goals and assisted a further five in 25 appearances for RB

Leipzig last year.

With now over 60 goal involvements in almost 150 appearances for the Bundesliga club, it’s

time for him to shine at a more dominant club in Europe. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are

currently the most well-known suitors whilst Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are

all rumoured with a summer move too.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace & England)

Hardly any England fans would have predicted that our stand-out player of the Euros would

be a defender; let alone Guehi. The Crystal Palace has played back-up to Southgate’s usual

centre-back pairing of John Stones and Harry Maguire but with the latter injured and

unavailable for the tournament, Marc Guehi stepped up. He performed solidly at the Euros

after an impressive season with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Whilst the London club won’t feel obliged to sell the defender having already sold Michael

Olise for £60 million, it’ll be hard to ignore the attention that the 24 year-old will receive.

Several top English clubs have been rumoured to make a move including Manchester United

and Arsenal. The prospect of playing European football might be enough to sway Guehi into

making a move this summer.

Nico Williams (Atletico Bilbao & Spain)

Williams entered the summer tournament with five goals and 11 assists in 31 La Liga

appearances. The 22 year-old then set the world alight with two goals and one assist in six

games, including netting in the final against England.

He impressed up front with now 17 year-old Lamine Yamal on either wing. That relationship

could sway Barcelona president Joan Laporta to cash in on the 22 year-old. He reportedly

has a buy-out clause of almost £50 million which could easily be met by most European

clubs.

Ferdi Kadioglu (Fernebahce & Turkey)

Turkey were the dark horses at Euro 2024 as they made their way to the quarter-finals

before losing to the Netherlands. They showed a true team spirit; in particular in defence.

Ferdi Kadioglu was a mainstay playing every minute of Turkey’s Euro campaign.

The Fernebahce player fulfils the role of a modern day full-back on the left, making runs in

attack whilst seamlessly going about his defensive duties. He also others versatility having

played for his club all across the back-line. With a reported release clause of £30 million,

there will be many clubs willing to pay the price for his services.
